Bodyboard sizes and what changes between them

Size by rider

Bodyboard length is chosen by height and weight. The 36in board suits small children; the 40in (40" x 20.25" x 2.175", 6.55 L) carries riders from youth to about 180 lb; the 42.5in Hypergon suits teens and adults who ride bigger, steeper waves.

A board that is too big is hard to control, and one that is too small sinks. When in doubt, the 40in is the family all-rounder.

Deck, rails and bottom

Our decks have rail grips, nose grips and elbow texture so your body stays in place. The rails are boxy for flotation and drive, and the high-density slick bottom with channels keeps the board straight and quick. Hypergon adds a fiberglass stringer and a sector channel bottom for projection off the bottom turn.

What size bodyboard do I need?

Small kids: 36in. Youth to adult up to about 180 lb: 40in. Performance-minded teens and adults: 42.5in Hypergon.

Do the bodyboards include a leash?

The 40in boards, the two-packs and Hypergon include wrist leashes. The single 36in board is sold without one; the 36in two-pack includes basic leashes.

Can I use them in a pool or lake?

Yes. The foam is safe for pools and lakes, and kids love towing them around flat water.
